We had a really nice experience at The Smith. We got there just as they opened and sat on their lovely patio. We enjoyed a nice cappuccino along with the avocado toast. Our meal was accompanied by a refreshing salad. There was a nice breeze as we watched the world go by. The service was excellent and attentive. It looked like a really nice atmosphere inside as well. High ceilings and nicely designed. If you’re looking for a nice spot to enjoy a great meal The Smith is the place for you.

It’s been two weeks and I still dream about the two delectable sides I had at The Smith. Located on Third Avenue above Sugar Mouse between 19th and 11th Streets, Aaron and I went to have a little bite late in the night after Jazz. I chose two sides of Brussels Sprouts and the Jalapeno Cheddar Grits. Aaron chose the Roasted Tomato Soup. Bread was put on the table and smeared with butter whetted my appetite. The dish of Brussels sprouts had a Green Goddess dressing, herbs and pink peppercorns. It was bursting with flavor and each bite with a spoonful of the heavenly grits sent me straight to heaven. The jalapeno flavored the grits but didn’t overpower the taste. Aaron’s soup was fine but small in comparison to mine and he too found my choices superb. As he was still hungry, we decided to share the 9-Layer Devil’s Food Cake with mascarpone mousse and cocoa nibs. Both plates were polished clean ! Our server, Gabriela Barrett, was attentive and friendly. Some customers were still dining. A clean large restroom was located at the back of the restaurant.

My wife and I lived near The Smith for 3 years and it was our favourite restaurant. The staff are very friendly, the food and drinks are great, and we never had a bad visit. I have a lot of allergies and the Smith takes this very seriously. They have excellent allergy processes including allergy flags and getting a manager to discuss options with you

Went for Thanksgiving fixed price meal but the food was excellent so I can’t imagine it would be any different on their regular menu. The gatsby cocktail was amazing. Super careful about allergens and would flag the party member with an allergy’s dishes so we knew it was safe for her to eat.
